Heartbreaking footage of Nasarawa ladies demonstrating while barefooted - Peter Obi

Peter Obi, the Labour Party's (LP) presidential candidate, called the topless protest by women in Nasarawa state in response to the election results "heartbreaking."

On Friday night, Obi responded to the development in a tweet sent from his verified Twitter account.

He said, "I just saw a sad, devastating video where Nasarawa women staged a topless protest to express their discontent with the election results.

Recall that ladies in Nasarawa State's Akwanga Local Government Area yesterday stripped down to their pants to protest the results of the governorship election in the state.

The women protested that their votes must be counted and that their mandate had been stolen.

When voters are denied their options, the Labour Party candidate for president claimed that the purpose of elections has been defeated.

When citizens are denied the chance to cast their ballots in a legitimate, free, and open election, according to Obi, it is a terrible injustice.

He bemoaned the degradation of women, whose rights ought to be upheld.

The Independent National Electoral Commission announced that Abdullahi Sule of the All Progressives Congress, APC, had won the Nasarawa State governorship election held on March 18. (INEC).

Prof. Ishaya Tanko, the State's Collation and Returning Officer, reported that the APC candidate received 347, 209 more votes than his next competitor. David Ombugadu, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) rival and candidate, received 283, 016 votes.
