Professor charged by EFCC with suspected N1.4 billion fraud



 Professor Uche Chigozie Edwin has been charged by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) with fraud in the amount of N1.4 billion at the Federal High Court in Lagos.

Two of Edwin's companies were also brought up for trial.

This was revealed in a statement shared on Thursday via the commission's official Twitter account.

In accordance with the statement, Edwin was charged with 11 counts involving conspiracy, the retention of cash, and the conversion of monies. 

The statement reads: "On March 16, 2023, before Judge Nicholas Oweibo of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, the Lagos Zonal Command of the EFCC arraigned one Prof. Uche Chigozie Edwin for an alleged N1.4 billion fraud.

"Edwin was charged on 11 counts of conspiracy, retention, and conversion of funds to the amount of N1,473,367,046.04 together with his companies, Visionary Integrated Consultancy Limited, NEMAD Associates Limited, and Revamp Global Enterprise."
