BREAKING: Supreme Court adjourns Naira Swap Suit against FG till March 3rd

 

The Muhammadu Buhari administration's naira redesign program is being partially implemented, therefore the Supreme Court has postponed ruling on the case filed by ten states.

After the presidential elections on March 3, the court set a new date for adjournment.

POLITICS NIGERIA previously reported that the court has postponed the lawsuit regarding the Naira Swap policy until February 22 in order to aggregate all lawsuits pertaining to the issue that were brought by nine additional States of the Federation who wished to be included in the lawsuit.

The federal government's Naira swap policy was challenged in a lawsuit that was initially brought by the governments of Kaduna, Kogi, and Zamfara State. Nine additional states were added as parties.

The attorneys general of Katsina, Lagos, Ondo, Ogun, Ekiti, Cross River, and Sokoto States were joined as co-plaintiffs by a seven-member panel chaired by Justice John Okoro, while the attorneys general of Edo and Bayelsa States were joined as co-respondents.
