Commercial bank confirms receiving old N500, N1000 notes

According to a representative of Access Bank, the bank began collecting old N500 and N1000 notes from clients on Monday who had completed the Central Bank of Nigeria's form for a cash swap.

This post was revealed by Access Bank Plc's Head of Public Relations, Abdul Imoyo.

Imoyo provided an update on the situation at all of its branches throughout the currency crisis and claimed that the financial sector is gradually returning to normal.

"Starting on Monday, our branches will begin collecting old client notes. However only customers who have completed cash swap documents from the Central Bank of Nigeria are eligible. The policy is unchanged from what CBN previously indicated, Imoyo said.

Commercial banks had previously been perplexed by the CBN's inconsistent instructions regarding the old naira collection.
