Osun Police prevent attempted kidnapping and detain three suspects

The Osun State Command of the Nigerian Police has disclosed that it currently has three alleged kidnappers in custody.

Their arrest was verified on Sunday by Patrick Kehinde Longe, commissioner of police.

He said that "the Command's anti-kidnapping unit captured the alleged kidnappers, Barri Galadima, Muhammadu Abdullahi, and Hussain Abdullah in their hideout at a remote hamlet in Oyo State."

A police officer was shot and injured during a heated gun battle between the suspects, who numbered over 30, and the police officers.

Yisa Aliu, a family source, revealed that the kidnappers had previously kidnapped a member of the family and shot him after demanding N4 million in ransom from the family.

In an effort to obtain more money before Nemesis caught up with them, they also tried to do the same thing on my brother this time.

"We hurried to Seriki Toyin for assistance. The effort to kidnap Idrisu was cancelled after we alerted the anti-kidnapping police, he claimed.

Galadima and Abdullahi, two of the suspects, admitted to the crime, while Hussaini, a Seriki Fulani in the Afijio Local Government  area of Oyo state denied his involvement. And was the third suspect.

When the police officers disallowed the kidnappers' attempt to kidnap one Alhaji Idris Aliu, a Fulani man, the kidnappers' bubble shattered.

Patrick Kehinde Longe, the head of the Osun Police, has promised that the culprits will face the full force of the law and that their eluding coworkers will be caught and brought to justice.
