1. Despite being held nationwide on Saturday, the presidential and national assembly elections were marred by violence in many regions of the nation. Several places saw voting process disruptions and fatalities as a result of the circumstance. Because to violence, the Independent National Electoral Commission postponed polls in several districts until today (Sunday).


2. On Saturday, some attorneys criticized the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (ret. ), and the Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, for publicly displaying their ballots after casting their votes for their preferred candidates.

3. On Saturday, EFC agents who were observing the presidential and National Assembly elections detained a number of people suspected of buying votes. Dr. Cletus Tyokyaa, a lecturer at the Sarwuan Tarka University (formerly known as the University of Agriculture), Makurdi, was one of those taken into custody.


4. After the votes had been cast, thugs stormed the Uwelu polling place in Benin, Edo State, and forced voters to flee for their lives. The thugs invaded the school to set it on fire in an effort to win. whereas many of the electorate were forced to flee out of fear of being assaulted.

5. The Ebeano political family in Enugu State has referred to the brother of the assassinated Enugu East Labour Party senatorial candidate, Oyibo Chukwu, accusation that it was responsible for his murder as "spurious and ridiculous." The organization is the political movement put out by Chimaroke Nnamani, a former governor of Enugu State and a candidate for the People's Democratic Party.


6. The majority of the alleged underage voters seen in viral videos during the election in Kano State may be experiencing stunted growth, according to Muhammed Yakubu, the commissioner of police for Kano State. Yakubu made the comments in response to an inquiry over various videos that were posted to social media showing voters who seemed to be underage casting ballots.

7. On Saturday, suspected Boko Haram terrorists invaded Goza town in Borno State's Goza Local Government Area, disrupting the election. While people were casting their ballots in the ongoing presidential and parliamentary elections, rebels attacked.


8. Peter Obi, the Labour Party's presidential candidate, has won nine of the voting booths located inside and close to the Presidential Villa in Abuja. All of the voting units were won by Obi, who was followed in the results by former vice president Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Asiwaju Bola Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

9. According to INEC, the process of compiling the results of the 2023 presidential and parliamentary elections will start on Sunday at noon. This was disclosed at a news conference on the 2023 general elections held on Saturday in Abuja by INEC Chairman Prof. Mahmood Yakubu.


10. Mr. Diran Onifade, the head of the Obi-Datti Media Team, issued a warning to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, yesterday, saying that it will not accept any presidential election results that are inconsistent with the results announced at the polling places.
