Just in: APC Chairman was murdered in Kogi

Gunmen invaded Aloko, a hamlet in Kogi State's Oganenigu Ward of the Dekina Local Government Area (LGA), and they left many people dead and hundreds of houses in flames.

The latest assault was carried out on Sunday by scores of attackers operating out of a base in the nearby Bassa LGA.

Our newspaper learned that the intruders lit up homes as soon as they arrived and began shooting everybody in their path.

James Adah, the All Progressives Congress (APCOganenigu )'s Ward Chairman, was one of the victims of the attack.

Governor Yahaya Bello has meanwhile urged restraint in the wake of the assault.

He declared, "My government will continue to confront crisis entrepreneurs from the state and ensure that those responsible will be held accountable under the law."

In its efforts to purge the state of criminals, the government "will never yield to the schemes of callous individuals," he continued.
