Police in Delta seize two weapons from a 24-year-old passenger

 

In Delta State, during a normal stop-and-search mission, agents of Dragon 18 & 29 detained passenger Joseph Vincent, 24, and found two locally made firearms on him.


In the Ughelli South Local Government Area, the event happened on the Jeremi/Iwhrekan route.

The operators stopped a tricycle with the registration number GBB 022 UN that was being driven by 58-year-old Isreal Sibito and carrying three girls and one male passenger.

The suspect attempted to flee by jumping off the trike as it was being searched and running into a nearby bush.

However, the operatives gave him a close pursuit before arresting him.

In a statement that was signed and made public, DSP Bright Edafe, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, corroborated the report.

In the police photograph, it was written, "When search was conducted on him, two (2) locally fabricated Berretta pistols were recovered from him."

He said, "Investigation is ongoing."

DSP Edafe advised the public to show patient when they are subjected to stop-and-search by police agents since it is for the collective good and to create a safer Delta for everyone. The Command is committed to its primary duty, which is protecting lives and property.
