Kidnappers release ex-Deputy Governor of Nasarawa Gye-Wado

Professor Onje Gye-Wado, a former deputy governor of Nasarawa State, was freed four days after his kidnapping.

This was confirmed on Monday morning by DSP Ramham Nansel, the state's police public relations officer.

Gye-Wado was abducted by gunmen on Thursday in Rinza hamlet in the state's Wamba Local Government District.

His adductors reportedly sought N70 million earlier in order to secure his release.

Although sources claim his family paid the ransom in the amount of N4 million to free him, the Police did not confirm whether it had been done so.
