According to President Muhammadu Buhari, his administration has redesigned the educational system by increasing financing for the development of human capital and physical infrastructure.

During the 7th convocation ceremony of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, FUOYE, on Saturday, Buhari made this statement in his capacity as the Honorable Minister of State for Education, Goodluck Nanah Opiah.

He added that he had accomplished his campaign promises to improve the economy, increase security, and fight corruption, noting that these three key subjects had seen enormous progress.

"Let me remind us all that my campaign for president in 2015 was predicated on the commitment to develop the economy, increase security, and fight corruption," he stated. I boldly state that we have fulfilled the three commitments out of deep thankfulness to Almighty Allah.

"Around the time of my inauguration, terrorism and other types of insecurity essentially besieged the nation. I firmly declare that the battle against terrorism has been waged and won as all the areas lost to these organizations have been regained. Moreover, terrorism is currently dying in Nigeria.

It is also remarkable that Nigeria, under my leadership, emerged from the murky waters of economic collapse to become known as the continent of Africa's largest economy. This is no little accomplishment. That is not an absolute. It can only be the outcome of a carefully thought-out developmental strategy.

The nation was likewise gripped by corruption prior to my taking office in 2015. It is also a well-known truth that my administration's initiatives, like as the implementation of the TSA, the whistleblower policy, and the stepping up of anti-corruption agency inspections, have helped to stem the tide of corruption in the nation.

"Although it is impossible to direct all of the country's resources to the education sector, it is public knowledge that my government has been gradually boosting funding to the sector in its yearly budgets since its commencement on May 29 2015," the statement reads.

In addition, Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN, Chairman of the Nigerian Board of Benchers, former First Bank Managing Director Bisi Onasanya, and former Super Eagles captain Segun Odegbami received honorary degrees for their services to the advancement of the country.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Fasina, stated in his remarks that the university has established itself on a global grid of academic achievement in the shortest amount of time since its founding.

Fasina praised the graduates for their academic achievements and cautioned them to uphold the institution's good name.
