The governors of Kaduna, Kogi, and Zamfara states sued the federal government on Wednesday, seeking a restraining order to prevent the full implementation of the CBN's naira redesign policy. The Supreme Court postponed the hearing until February 22.

As previously reported by Vanguard, Nasir El-Rufai and Yahaya Bello, representatives of the states of Kaduna and Kogi, arrived at the supreme court today at around 8:30 am to observe the proceedings.

Three Northern governors—El-Rufai, Bello, and Bello Matawale—had taken the FG to court on February 3 despite the CBN's announcement that the N1000, N500, and N200 old naira notes will no longer be accepted as legal tender as of February 10.

The Supreme Court stopped the FG from enforcing the deadline at the beginning of the case on February 8 until a hearing on Wednesday (today).
