As kidnappers enter a Benue church, a worshipper is shot dead, along with the pastor and other people

 

One worshipper was killed in the attack on the Christian Pentecostal Church by armed men who are thought to be kidnappers in the Akenawe-Tswarev community, Logo Local Government Area of Benue State. The resident pastor and three other worshippers were also taken hostage.

The perpetrators of the incident struck on Sunday morning during a vigil.


Gwadue Kwaghtyo, the resident pastor, was reportedly leading prayer when the assailants entered the church and started shooting at the faithful.

Mrs. Salome Tor, the chairman of Logo LGA, revealed the heinous occurrence to press on Sunday.

He said, "It was early this morning" (still night hours). One of the branches' churches held a vigil. They were encircled by the armed men while they prayed. 

They currently reside in the hospital after kidnapping three individuals, killing one boy, and injuring two others with a machete.
