Osun police seize weapons from hoodlums

 

The Western Security Network Agency, Amotekun Osun, has captured two individuals who are renowned for launching terror assaults on dwellers of Ita-Olokan region of Osogbo.


The security outfit further claimed that the two, 27-year-old Afeez Olaniyan and 23-year-old Ismail Wahab, who were detained after a tip-off by residents of the area were also in possession of a locally-made firearm.


The Osun Amotekun Corps Commander, Brigadier-General Bashir Adewinmbi, confirmed their arrests to press on Wednesday and said that the security organization sprang into action right away and got them taken into custody.

Adewinmbi revealed that the alleged hoodlums were apprehended by the operatives for terrorising the inhabitants of Ita-Olokan area, Osogbo, and adjoining environs. 

Our operatives sprung into action soon after the complaint was made and the offenders was apprehended and a locally made pistol gun was found on them at the time of their arrest.

“Upon Inquiry, they confessed to perpetrating the offence and using the handgun to protect themselves,” Adewinmbi stated.

Adewinmbi added that the suspects have been handed over to the police for subsequent investigation and interrogation.
