BREAKING: 2023 elections: Peter Obi breaks silence, says Nigerians robbed by supposed trusted leaders

A day after Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, was named the winner by the Independent National Election Commission, INEC, Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party (LP) in the general elections of 2023, broke his silence.

According to Obi, the election's outcome was predetermined and declared in blatant disregard for the laws and regulations governing elections.

He added that it would rank among the most contentious elections in Nigerian history.

In his first public appearance since the February 25 presidential and National Assembly elections, Obi addressed Nigerians and the globe on Thursday afternoon during a global press conference.

According to the former governor of Anambra State, Nigerians had their trust in putative leaders betrayed by robbing them.

Recall that on Wednesday, the INEC announced that Tinubu had won the presidential election.

The certificate of return was also given to Tinubu by the election body.

The election results, as planned and declared, clearly contravene electoral laws and regulations, as pledged by the Independent National Election Commission, or INEC. It will be remembered as one of the most divisive elections in Nigerian history.
