Police stop an attempted robbery in Abuja, arrest the culprit, and retrieve the BMW and other valuables

According to the Federal Capital Territory Police Command, on Wednesday, its agents stationed at the Apo Divisional Headquarters thwarted an armed robbery attempt and detained a suspect.

The operation was carried out in response to a distress call received from Zone E Extension Apo Resettlement, according to a statement made by the command's spokesman, SP Josephine Adeh.

She claimed that when the police team arrived on the scene, the thugs abandoned the ash-colored BMW vehicle with registration number ABJ 440 KX that contained three plasma televisions and two laptops that they had stolen from one of the homes and fled in various directions.

Similar sightings of a red Volkswagen Golf with the registration number LUY 899 KV with its engine running were made nearby. As soon as police officers arrived, the car sped away.

The brave agents gave the evading car a fierce pursuit before stopping it at the Games Village Roundabout. Dahiru Muazu 'M' was eventually revealed to be the driver.

"The suspect and recovered exhibits are in custody while the investigation is ongoing to apprehend other eluding suspects," the statement reads.

After the investigations are complete, she stated that the suspects will be charged in court.
