Iyorchia Ayu is prevented from posing as the PDP chairman by the court

On Monday, the beleaguered Senator Iyorchia Ayu was prevented from posing as the national chairman of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, by a Benue State High Court sitting in Makurdi, the state capital.

The ex-parte application filed by plaintiff engineer Conrad Terhide Utaan against Ayu served as the foundation for the court order.

Ex-parte application details presented to Justice W.I. Kpochi, presiding, were suit no. MHC/85/2023 and motion no. MHC/633m/2023.

However, plaintiff's solicitor M. T. Assoh, Esq., made the motion before the court.

Upon hearing Mr. M. T. Assoh of learned counsel skillfully move the application, and upon a dispassionate consideration of the facts presented to me in the pool of the affidavit evidence, as well as again upon consideration of the issues distilled in the written address by Mr. M. T. Assoh of learned counsel, it is my candid opinion that this is a proper case to grant the interim injunction as craved.

"As a result, this application is hereby approved in accordance with the reliefs outlined in the motion papers, which have been previously reproduced.

"Everything is well organised.

Hearing adjourned till 17 April 2023.

Additionally, it was claimed that a 15-paragraph affidavit that was attached as exhibits supported the application.
