1. Chief Mujidat Folashade Tinubu Ojo, the president-elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu's daughter, has pleaded with Nigerians to support and pray for her father's ability to guide the nation to its goal. In Abuja on Saturday, she made the request.


2. In accordance with instructions from the Central Bank of Nigeria, banks in Federal Capital Territory (FCT) satellite towns opened for business on Saturday (CBN). Huge throngs of clients were reportedly witnessed at banks' Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) terminals, according to journalists who saw various banks in the Territory. 

3. A pastor, Kayode Salami, was detained by the Ondo State Police Command after a woman was discovered dead in his church in Idanre, in the state's Idanre Local Government Area. The deceased, Adejoke Oloje, was said to be a member of the church and had been residing on its grounds since January 2023. She had an 11-month-old child.


4. According to the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, the commission's chairman, did not own the property destroyed in Bauchi State. This information was released in a statement on Saturday that was signed by Rotimi Oyekanmi, the INEC chairman's chief press secretary. Oyekanmi was responding to a popular video in which a building that Mahmood was said to possess was demolished. 

5. Humphrey Anumudu, a Labour Party candidate for governor in the upcoming primary election in Imo State, was discovered dead in his home. Anumudu had just returned from a meeting at the LP secretariat in Abuja when he was discovered dead in his house in Lagos.


6. The dates for the Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC, to issue Certificates of Return to Governors-elect are March 29, March 30, and March 31. Following a meeting on March 25, 2023, one week after the nationwide gubernatorial elections, the commission made its verdict. 

7. Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the president-elect, has expressed concern about alleged plans by some partisan politicians to scuttle the transition process, particularly his anticipated swearing-in on May 29. 8. Abiodun Oladapo, 43, was detained by members of the Ogun State Police Command on suspicion of having an unnatural relationship with his 19-year-old daughter (name withheld). In a statement, the command's spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the suspect was detained as a result of a complaint made by one Oluwatoyin idowu to the Mowe divisional headquarters. 

9. Academics at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) and other tertiary institutions in the nation have been tasked by President Muhammadu Buhari to conduct ground-breaking research that will help increase output and diversify the nation's economy. Buhari, who is a visitor to the UNN, made the accusation yesterday in Nsukka at the university's 50th Convocation.


10. The Abia State House of Assembly has refuted rumours that Governor Okezie Ikpeazu's removal from office was being considered. According to rumours, the majority of House members, particularly those from Abia Central and Abia South, have finalised preparations to remove Ikpeazu from office before his two-month term ends.
