Mobile phones, photographic devices not allowed in voting cubicle



Voters are not permitted to use mobile phones or any other photography equipment inside the polling booth to snap images of the party they chose to support, the Independent National Electoral Commission has cautioned.


This was announced during a news broadcast on Channels Television by Barrister Festus Okoye, National Commissioner and Chairperson of INEC Voter Education and Publicity Committee.

He stated that anyone caught would face prosecution and go to jail. No one will be permitted to bring their phone into the voting booth, he said. It is not allowed.

Authorities from the ICPC, EFCC, and security agencies will be present to observe and make sure the law is not broken in that regard.
