He'll discuss the agitation over Biafra and the lack of security. Ohanaeze on why Umahi ought to be Senate President

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo has outlined reasons why Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State ought to be the next Senate President as Nigerians get ready for the 10th National Assembly.

Okechukwu Isiguzoro, the secretary general of Ohanaeze, stated that Umahi would make sure that the Southeast is properly represented at the federal level.

Isiguzoro claimed that Umahi will make use of his sway as Senate President to put an end to the unrest and Biafra agitation in the Southeast.

The Ohanaeze leader bemoaned the lack of proper representation of the Southeast in President Muhammadu Buhari's government.

Isiguzoro asserts that umahi is a fair tool that can simultaneously accomplish three goals. We are not among the top six in the departing administration, neither as president nor vice president; Ndigbo is neither the president nor deputy of the Senate; we are not represented in the Speakership; neither are we represented in the judiciary.

"This caused the governors of the Southeast to assume political leadership, and the chairman has served as the leader for the past seven years.

"We believe the future Senate President should be such a person with good knowledge.

He will use his diplomatic clout to help address these ills of insecurity and Biafra agitations plaguing the Southeast when matters are being handled at the national level.
