He left a legacy of toil, and Buhari laments - Deputy Customs Comptroller Sanusi

President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed his sincere sympathies to the family of Umar Sanusi, a recently deceased retired Deputy Comptroller of Customs (DCG).

Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to Buhari on Media and Publicity, said in a statement on Saturday that Sanusi left a legacy of tenacity and hard work.

Sanusi was the deputy comptroller of customs for the Human Resources Department until he resigned in 2019, according to Buhari, who described him as a disciplined officer who faithfully served the country.

Sanusi's legacy of dedication, honesty, and uprightness in public service, in the opinion of President Buhari, serves as a reminder that people will be remembered for their deeds long after their time on earth has come to an end.

The president advised those who were mourning the deceased to honour his legacy by making service to others the centre of their careers.

He prayed for the deceased's soul to find peace and for those who are grieving to find solace.

Sanusi passed away last Saturday in a hospital in Abuja.
